A media buyer buys advertising and turns it into leads and sales at a profit. The role is in demand: every business runs ads, but people who can calculate payback are scarce. Here's how to get in.
What a media buyer does
- Chooses the offer and the platform: Google, Meta, TikTok and others.
- Prepares creatives and landing pages, or briefs designers.
- Launches campaigns, tests hypotheses, cuts what loses money.
- Counts the money: spend, cost per lead, payback.
- Scales what's profitable.
Skills you need
- Analytics. Reading numbers matters more than creativity. The basics are in CPL, CPA, ROMI.
- Ad accounts. Campaign structure, audiences, bidding, ad review.
- Creatives. Understanding why one banner works and another doesn't.
- Tracking. UTMs, pixels, postbacks — to see where the money came from.
- Discipline. Reports, budget care, following platform policies.
The path from zero
- Theory and basics — 1–2 weeks: how offers, affiliate programs and metrics work.
- Hands-on in ad accounts — setting up campaigns on training and small budgets.
- Test launches — first real numbers and first mistakes. That's normal.
- Working with a mentor — campaign reviews save months of trial and error.
- Live offers — working in a team with offers, tools and experienced colleagues.
Alone or in a team
You can learn alone from open materials, but a beginner's main problem isn't knowledge — it's access: to good offers, working setups, accounts and experienced people who can explain why a campaign fails. That's why people who join a team right after training grow fastest.
How it works with us
